Success Story: Endie
Success Story: Endie
Endie, a rare female ginger kitten, was born in the picturesque Mandraki Harbour on the Greek island of Rhodes. With its constant buzz of tourists and boats, Mandraki is a vibrant but challenging home for cats. Yet, Endie and her family were lucky—kind-hearted locals kept an eye on her, her siblings, and their mother, making sure they had food and shelter.
One day, Rosie from the UK and her mum were visiting the harbour when they spotted Endie. The tiny ginger kitten immediately approached Rosie, nuzzling her hand as if she had known her all along. Within moments, Rosie was captivated and pleaded with her mum to adopt Endie. Though hesitant at first, Rosie's mum eventually agreed, charmed by both Endie and her daughter’s enthusiasm.
Getting Endie to the UK, however, was a journey in itself. Through a Facebook group, they connected with Judith from the Netherlands, who happened to be visiting Rhodes and kindly agreed to help. Judith escorted Endie back to the Netherlands, where Rosie and her sister were waiting to bring her home to the UK.
Despite the long journey, Endie remained calm and resilient. And when she finally reunited with Rosie, it was as if they’d never been apart. Endie quickly settled into her new home, forming a close bond with Rosie and even becoming fast friends with the family’s three French bulldogs. Now, Endie spends her days playing, snuggling, and basking in the warmth of her forever family. From the bustling streets of Mandraki to a cozy home in the UK, Endie’s story is one of love, resilience, and a journey worth every mile.
