Morpheas
Morpheas
One fateful night, a distressed call reached our volunteer Eva, alerting her to an injured cat in Mandilara Street. Without hesitation, Eva rushed to the scene and scooped up the injured feline, racing to the Vet despite the late hour. Fortunately, the compassionate Vet, Giorgos, opened the clinic outside regular hours to provide immediate attention.
Upon examination, Giorgos grimly suggested euthanasia as the most humane option to end the cat's suffering. However, Eva, overcome with emotion, couldn't bear to let the cat go without a fight.
Enter another dedicated volunteer, Tania, who stepped forward and proposed a different approach. Tania offered to take the cat under her care, pledging to fight for its life as long as it could manage basic functions independently.
The two volunteers embarked on a challenging journey to rehabilitate the injured cat. They conducted rehabilitation exercises, physiotherapy, and supported the cat's gradual recovery. In the initial stages, the cat relied on diapers, a testament to the severity of its injuries.
As the cat continued to show improvement, Tania and Eva decided to take additional steps for its well-being. The cat underwent castration and received essential vaccinations to ensure a healthier future.
Moved by the cat's resilience and the circumstances of its discovery on the world sleep day, the volunteers affectionately named him Morpheus, after the Primordial Greek god of dreams. Through their dedication and unwavering love, Morpheus found a second chance at life, becoming a symbol of hope in the face of adversity.
After a long and painful recovery, Morpheas is thriving again and is up for adoption. Morpheas is a 2,5 year old (estimation) male cat. He has been castrated and vaccinated. Morpheas has now fully recovered from his injuries except from his tail that has been removed. He is social with cats and humans, has a soft nature. Due to his past, he needs to go to a loving, warm home with people who will treat him gently.
